We want to discover ways for local households to cut energy costs, improve their homes with renewable technologies like solar panels and help us all reduce our impact on the environment. Our goal is to find practical, affordable solutions that can support our community’s drive towards a greener future, starting right here in the Chetwynd, Toton and Chilwell neighbourhoods.

An Introduction to Solar
What is Solar PV?
Solar PV (Photovoltaic) systems are a form of technology that convert sunlight into electricity. These systems consist of multiple panels, usually installed on rooftops, that harness the sun’s natural energy. Solar PV is a great way of generating your own electricity, reducing your reliance on traditional grid power.
How Do Solar Panels Work?
Solar panels capture sunlight and convert it into direct current (DC) electricity. An inverter then changes this DC electricity into alternating current (AC) electricity, which is used to power our homes.
